Panaji: After taking a cue from Haryana, the state government may soon implement ‘Parivar Pehchan Patra’ scheme to weed out bogus beneficiaries and also those availing more than one government scheme. The state will also send a team to Gujarat to study the CM’s dashboard to monitor implementation of schemes so that it can be replicated in Goa.
The Haryana and Gujarat governments presented these schemes during the Niti Aayog meeting in Delhi.
“Haryana has implemented ‘Parivar Pehchan Patra’. We have seen that model. It is like a ration card. We will first study it and then decide on how it can be implemented here,” Sawant said.
“The CM dashboard is being implemented in Gujarat. We have already seen a similar model in Madhya Pradesh. We will also send a team to Gujarat to study and work on it,” the CM said.
He said that Goa is getting all the support from the Centre to restart mining. “We are also getting infrastructure and human resources support that we need, and they are also ready to give it to us in the future,” he said. “We have also started work on marine and electronic clusters.”
Union minister of state for finance Bhagwat Karad said that the decade before 2014 can be termed as a lost decade as the Union government was run on remote. At present under the leadership of PM Modi, the world is looking at India and seeing how it is marching ahead to become a developed nation, he said.
Karad said that poor people have got security in the country in Modi’s terms. Hitting out at the opposition over the Covid vaccine, the minister said because of the vaccination programme, the country was able to control second and third Covid waves.
He said there was no toilet facility in villages, but due to the initiative of the Union government, the coverage of toilets in the country reached 100%.
The Union minister said that there is no quality difference between branded medicines and generic ones and the Union government has started generic medical stores across the country as they sell medicines at lower prices than the branded ones.
He said that due to the policies of the Union government there has been an increase in the production of agricultural products, including food grains.
