Surat: An employee of an Ankleshwar-based angadia firm filed a complaint with the police stating the he was looted of Rs 45 lakh in cash which he was carrying in his scooter near Bhut Mama dairy on way to Ankleshwar from from Bharuch.
The incident happened in the evening when Bharat Patel, employee of Mahendra Somabhai angadia firm, was driving his scooter carrying the money in the boot space under the seat when he was accosted by two men who came on a bike and threatened him with a knife. Before Patel could react to the situation, the goons threw chilli powder on his eyes and fled from the spot along with the cash.
After being notified, Ankleshwar police along with local crime branch (LCB), and special operation group (SOG) swung into action and closed all entry-exit points to nab the looters. The police are checking CCTVs of all important points in the city to identify the culprits and trace their movements.
