Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 10:19AM

Oriental Trimex(up 2.19%), Aro Granite Industries(up 0.75%), KIOCL(up 0.61%), MOIL(up 0.39%), NMDC Ltd(up 0.33%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.23%) and Coal India(up 0.20%) were among the top gainers.

Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(down 1.08%), Pokarna(down 0.78%), 20 Microns(down 0.69%) and Ashapura Minechem(down 0.23%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 53.95 points up at 18652.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 151.68 points at 62998.06 at around 10:19AM.

Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 2.85%), JSW Steel(up 2.06%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.57%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.42%), HCL Technologies(up 0.95%), NTPC(up 0.79%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.67%), Britannia Industries(up 0.63%), Grasim Industries(up 0.62%) and Reliance Industries(up 0.54%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.84%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.83%), SBI Life(down 0.78%), Nestle India(down 0.69%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 0.67%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.5%), Divis Laboratories(down 0.46%), ITC(down 0.4%), Hindalco Industries(down 0.37%) and UPL Ltd(down 0.36%) were trading in the red.
