Nagpur: Manpreet Singh Randhawa and Aman Khiche have been selected in senior men’s handball team for the 25th Asian men's handball club league to be held in Iran from June 1 to 10.
Khiche, a student of Sharirik Shikshan Mahavidyalaya, Koradi, has also been selected in Gujrat Garvit Team for the upcoming Premier Handball League to be held at Jaipur from June 8. Khiche is the only player from Maharahstra to play in the Premier Handball League.
Randhawa is a serving Indian Army officer, commissioned in the regiment of artillery in March 2020. He led the Indian team during the 8th Asian men's handball championship 2022. He is the first and only officer from the armed forces to represent and captain the Indian team in a
game of handball, states a press release.
Captain Manpreet comes from a family of international players. His father Inderjeet, mother Lovneet and brother Harpreet have captained Indian handball in their times.
