Typos in documents hinder many at rahat camps
Jaipur: A section of residents in Jaipur district have failed to register themselves at the Mehangai Rahat Camps because of ‘rejection’ of various types. They have been asked by officials at the camps to come back after complying with all the necessary solution requirements.
Around a month after CM Ashok Gehlot rolled out these camps, a senior Jaipur district official had claimed that close to 19 lakh families, or more than 60% families in the district, had enrolled themselves for various schemes in Jaipur district.
“Out of the rest 40%, the applications of around 10% families’ have been rejected for various reasons. They have been asked to come back after complying with possible solution requirements suggested by the officials at the camps. Had these applications been accepted, the figures would have officially crossed 70%,” said a senior official.
One of the common reasons behind the rejection of applications is typos in the beneficiaries’ names and addresses as mentioned in the Jan Aadhar cards, said officials. They have been asked to rectify the mistakes and visit the camps again to apply for their preferred schemes. “In some cases, we noticed problems related to documentation. For example, when a woman wanted to register for the free electricity scheme, it was found her name that was registered had no mention of the members of the Jan Aadhar card issued for her family,” said the official.
