Neta’s threat to constable takes political turn
Nagpur: Ganeshpeth police station on Monday became the venue of high drama after two rival groups tried to dominate each other over the issue of a political leader shielding molesters.
One group met senior inspector Hrishikesh Ghadge to justify the action of the politician who had created a ruckus at the police station for registering an offence against three persons for molesting a 54-year-old woman and assaulting her son and husband over a parking row on May 25.
Social activist Nutan Rewatkar, who agitated in front of the police station along with the survivor, appreciated the cops for initiating action against the perpetrators for attacking the family including the woman.
She demanded action against the leader for obstructing government officials from discharging their duty. She also wanted the cops to add attempt to murder in the FIR.
Datta Shirke, who came to the police station supporting the leader, said the woman and her family had thrashed two brothers who are from a sound background with one of them a social worker. tnn
