Armyman among two killed in twin stray bull attacks in UP
AMROHA/PILIBHIT: A 28-year-old Indian Army soldier was killed while his wife and two children were injured after a stray bull hit their two-wheeler on Hasanpur Atrasi road near Bavankhedi village in Amroha district on Monday. In another such incident in Pilibhit, a 24-year-old man, identified as Banti Lodhi, was attacked by a stray bull on the outskirts of the city when he was on his way home on Sunday, report Harveer Singh & Keshav Agarwal.
The soldier, Ankit Kumar, was posted at 507 ASC Battalion in Punjab's Ferozepur. Police said Kumar died on the spot as the bull's horn pierced his stomach, while his wife, Sonam (25), and their two children suffered minor injuries. Hasanpur police station SHO Susheel Verma said, "We will catch the bull and send it to a cow shelter. Kumar belonged to a farmer family." Amroha district magistrate BK Tripathi said, "The matter has come to my attention. I have instructed the Hasanpur SDM to take serious note of the incident."
Meanwhile, Banti Lodhi was on his bike around 10 pm when a stray bull hit him and he fell on the road. As he fell, the bull kept attacking him. Locals rushed him to the district hospital where doctors declared him dead. Sungarhi police station SHO Jagat Singh said, "We have informed the family of the deceased about the accident. The body has been sent for autopsy."
