China’s Join Win (Bangladesh) Company Ltd is going to set up a shoe accessories manufacturing factory in the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) Economic Zone (EZ) with an investment of $10.73 million. Join Win signed an agreement with BEPZA to this effect at BEPZA Complex, Dhaka, yesterday.

The modern fully automated factory will produce 7 million pairs of shoe accessories like PU insoles, PU midsoles, PU outsoles, TPU outsoles, rubber outsoles, and open cell PU insoles annually. Join Win (Bangladesh) will manufacture shoe accessories for prominent shoe brands like Nike, Adidas, Puma, Caterpillar, among others, BEPZA said in a press release.

The project is expected to create employment opportunities for 900 Bangladeshis. Join Win has been in the sector for the past 30 years and has six factories across different countries that produce popular branded shoes.

The BEPZA EZ is being developed at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar, Mirsharai, Chattogram on 1138.55 acres of land. Including Join Win (Bangladesh), BEPZA has signed lease agreements with a total of 19 companies, both domestic and international, to establish factories with a total proposed investment of around $411 million. BEPZA hopes export activities from BEPZA EZ will be started by this year.
