2 dead, 11 injured as truck rams into auto in Jhansi

JHANSI: Two persons including a woman died on the spot when a speeding truck hit an auto-rickshaw in Pooch area of Jhansi district on Monday. The incident took place on the state highway near village Khilli falling under police station Pooch. The auto-rickshaw, carrying around a dozen persons from Moth to Pooch, was hit by a speeding truck.
The accident was so severe that the auto was completely smashed and the occupants were thrown on the road. Police were informed by the nearby villages who were the first to report for rescue. All the injured were sent to CHC Moth from where they were shifted to Jhansi medical college in a critical condition. The relatives of the victims reached the medical college after getting the news. As per CO Moth Shweta Kumari, police were trying to locate the truck and its driver. The deceased include Geeta Devi, 35, of village Churkhi of Jalaun district and a 60-year-old unidentified man.
