The chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), S Somanath announced that the launch of Chandrayaan-3 is scheduled for July this year. He made this statement following the successful launch of the NSV-01, a second-generation navigation satellite, from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. Chandrayaan-3 is a subsequent mission to Chandrayaan-2, aimed at demonstrating complete capabilities for a safe moon landing and rover exploration. The mission involves a Lander and Rover configuration and will be launched by the LVM3 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.
