Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Higher Education Council (OSHEC) has invited applications from faculty members (aged below 45 years) of different colleges and universities to carry out research by getting seed funding from the state government. It has also invited applications from students (aged below 35 years) for research fellowships.
Under the Odisha University Research and Innovation Incentivization Plan (OURIIP), the council will give seed funding to 40 regular faculty members (with PhD) of state public universities, government and government aided colleges under the higher education department and skill development and technical education department.
The government will provide seed funding of Rs 7 lakh to each faculty member for research. Two years will be the given to show the research output. Last date to apply for the funding is June 30, official sources said.
“We will scrutinise the research proposals and select the best after June 30. We will select 40 innovative research proposals and award them with seed funding,” said Asoka Kumar Das, vice-chairman, OSHEC.
Under OURIIP, the council also awards research fellowships to students (aged below 35 years as on January 1, 2023) who have qualified
the National Eligibility
Test (NET) in over 35 post-graduate subjects.
