Mangaluru: The flight operations, both arrival and departure, at Mangaluru International Airport(MIA) were affected due to technical issues related to runway lighting on Sunday evening. However, the issue was rectified at 9.30pm. The MIA spokesperson in a press release stated that due to a technical issue with the runway lighting, flights to and from Mangaluru have been affected. The issue was noticed around 7.45pm on Sunday.
As a result, IndiGo flight from Mumbai (6E5188 ) was diverted to Kannur International Airport and departure of
Air India Express flight to Bahrain (IX 789) was put on hold (scheduled departure 8.05pm). “Incoming flights from Chennai and Bengaluru are likely to be delayed. The engineering team is already on the ground working to rectify the issue,” spokesperson stated. TNN
