Panaji: The Goa Waste Management Corporation (GWMC) is in the process of finalising the technology for the Solid Waste Management Facility at Bainguinim.
The corporation will select the technology based on the presentation of successful bidders.
Once the technology is finalised, the GWMC shall issue the request for proposal (RFP) to the successful bidders for submitting the financial quote to the GWMC, which will then evaluate the financial bids and accordingly issue letter of intent to the L1 bidder as per the tender conditions.
The GWMC had floated tender for setting up a garbage treatment plant at Bainguinim. The request for qualification (RFQ) was processed and three companies were shortlisted.
The GWMC inspection committee visited the bidders facilities from April 27 to April 29. Based on the recommendation of the committee for inspection, the successful bidders were called for presentation before expert committee consisting of BARC retired scientist Sharad Kale and IIT-Bombay professor Munish Chandel on May 2.
“Presently, the GWMC is finalising the process and technology based on the presentations of the successful bidders, inspection of bidders facilities and opinions and recommendations of the subject matter experts,” GWMC managing director Levinson Martins told TOI.
The successful bidder will have to design, handle engineering, financing, construction, supply, installation, commissioning, performance run, operation and maintenance for a period of 10 years of 250 TPD capacity solid waste processing facility-based on recycle and sorting line, segregation, bio-methanation and composting system at Bainguinim.
Once the technology is finalised, the GWMC shall issue the RFP to the successful bidders for submitting the financial quote to the GWMC, which will then evaluate the financial bids and accordingly issue letter of intent to the L1 bidder as per the tender conditions
