‘JSS old students can form alumni assn to help needy’
Mysuru: Deputy secretary of department of administrative reforms and personnel administration DB Natesh on Sunday suggested old students of JSS educational institutions to come together to form an old students association to help needy poor students and promote their education activities.
He was speaking after inaugurating an old students convention held at JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science here. He asked the old students to form their own trust to fund the education of the poor rural students, to provide financial support to students to face competitive exams besides build full-fledged residential schools for poor students.
“As many as 13,000 students have obtained their degrees from JSS college, even if half of the old students of JSS college come together to become members of old students association by providing Rs 2,000 each it will be a huge amount to help poor students,” he said.
He cited an example of old students who studied in an educational institution and formed their own students association are running 13 residential schools. tnn
