ARA: A 25-year-old man was killed in a celebratory firing at a "tilak" ceremony at Dharampura village in Bhojpur district in the wee hours of Saturday.
Bittu Singh, a resident of Jagwaliya village under the Mufassil police station, was attending the "tilak" ceremony of his cousin Kunal Singh when a bullet fired by one of his relatives hit him. He was rushed to the sadar hospital here from where he was referred to to Patna Medical College and Hospital. Bittu died during treatment at the PMCH.
Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar said an FIR has been lodged and raids were being conducted. "From now onwards, organizers of marriage and other functions will have to ensure that no person indulges in celebratory firing even with licensed weapons."
