Nettaru’s wife to get back job after BJP uproar
Mangaluru: Chief minister Siddaramaiah said that Nuthana Kumari, the wife of slain BJP activist Praveen Nettaru, will be reinstated in the government job. Considering it as a special case, she will be reinstated, the CM tweeted.
He stated that it is common that whenever a new government is formed, all temporary appointments in government service are terminated, and 150 contractual appointments were already cancelled. Nettaru wife’s appointment was one among them.
Earlier in the day, BJP state president and Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel urged chief minister Siddaramaiah to restore the contract job provided to the wife of the slain BJP worker.
Nuthana Kumari M had joined the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund section of the Dakshina Kannada DC’s office on October 13 last year. The then CM Basavaraj Bommai had issued a notification to hire Nuthana for a Group-C post in the Chief Minister’s Office on contract basis. She had reportedly requested an appointment with the CM in Mangaluru. Following this, she was given a job at the DC’s office here.
A postgraduate in library science, Nuthana worked for more than seven years at the library of St Philomena College and a few months at Vivekananda PU College in Puttur. Nuthana was keen on working as a librarian. tnn
