Verna cops book one for chain snatching

Vasco: Verna police on Saturday registered an offence against Anas Ansary, 22, for his involvement in a chain snatching case that was reported at Alto- Dabolim a few days ago. Ansary was apprehended in a gunshot case along with Sajid Ansari, 36.
The duo had attempted to burgle an unoccupied bungalow near MES College at Zuarinagar.
During the course of the investigation, Verna police stated that Ansary had fired bullets toward police sub-inspector Swapnil Naik before the duo fled from the scene of the crime after their attempt to burgle the bungalow was foiled.
Police also has revealed that Ansary was involved in a chain-snatching case that was reported at Alto-Dabolim. Further investigation is being conducted by Verna PI Diogo Gracias under the supervision of Vasco DySP Salim Shaikh.
