Death toll from storms rises to two in H'bag

HAZARIBAG: The death toll caused by Thursday's storm and rain devastation rose to two with the death of Meena Devi (35), wife of Deepak Sao, of Nutan Nagar locality. According to Bajrang Mahato, officer in-charge of Hazaribag Muffasil police station, they have seized the deceased's body and sent it to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital for postmortem examination.
The deceased was hit by a flying corrugated sheet from one of the big apartments located in Lakhe locality when she was returning home from work. She succumbed to her injuries at Rims, Ranchi. Police seized the body on Saturday after her relatives brought the body to Hazaribag without conducting an autopsy.
Locals sat on a 'dharna' near the apartment demanding compensation to the deceased's family.
