Anjuna cops file chargesheets in 2 cases of noise pollution

Panaji: Anjuna police have filed chargesheets in the alleged sound pollution cases against owner and manager of Cafe LA Musica Vagator, and owners and manager of XOXO Bar and Restaurant, Anjuna.
Deputy superintendent of police Jivba Dalvi said that on January 12, Gaurish Naik, talathi of Arjuna village panchayat lodged a complaint against Cafe LA Musica for playing music beyond the permissible limits causing noise pollution. Dalvi investigated the case.
The DySP said that the statements of officials of Goa State Pollution Control Board and other witnesses have been recorded.
“The musical equipment used at the Cafe have been seized,” Dalvi said, adding, “a chargesheet has been filed before the JMFC, Mapusa against Vijay Arora, owner and Sudipta Ghosh under Sec 15 of the Environment Protection Act and Sec 57 of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control Rules) 2000.”
In the second case, PSI Sneha Sawal attached to Anjuna police station conducted a raid at XOXO Bar and Restaurant for playing music beyond the permissible limits. This case too was investigated by Dalvi.
“A charge sheet has been filed before the JMFC, Mapusa against accused Deepansh Subhash Bajaj, Mohak Subhash Bajaj --owners of XOXO Bar and Restaurant and Suresh Jaycjand Ramola, manager under relevant sections,” Dalvi said.
