HYDERABAD: Five months after a man was murdered in Dundigal, police on Saturday arrested three persons, including the man's son-in-law, for their role in the killing. Another accused is still at large.
Dundigal police said the prime accused, Shaik Naseer, and his two friends, T Koteshwar Rao and K Mahender, were arrested and three knives and three mobile phones were recovered.
On December 16, Ramesh was stabbed to death allegedly by his son-in-law Naseer. Several months ago, the accused kidnapped Ramesh's daughter and took her to Mumbai where he allegedly raped her. Subsequently, a rape case was registered against Naseer.
He was arrested in that case and later came out on bail. Fearing that he might get convicted in the case, Naseer approached Ramesh, offering to marry his daughter. He convinced the father-daughter duo and married her.
A few months after their marriage, Naseer started to harass her suspecting her fidility. He used to beat her, police said. Unable to take his harassment, the daughter decided to move back to her parents' house. She refused to return to Naseer's house.
This made Naseer bore a grudge against her and Ramesh, who also refused to allow his daughter to go back to her husband's house. The accused hatched a plan and decided to eliminate both of them.
When he found his father-in-law alone near his residence, Naseer with the help of his friends killed Ramesh in December last year.
