4 arrested for killing man

Coimbatore: The Kovilpalayam police arrested four people on Saturday for beating a 42-year-old man to death at Kalapatti two days ago.
The arrested people were identified as P Marimuthu, 57, of Kurumbapalayam, L Maldurai, 47, and S Santhosh Kumar, 24, of Kalapatti and G Rajkumar, 21, a native of Thanjavur district.
Maldurai and Santhosh are truck drivers and Marimuthu and Rajkumar worked at a hotel. “They were having drinks at the back of a hotel at Kalapatti on Thursday night, when D Vadivel of Madampatti came there. They questioned him for coming there and a quarrel arose between them. In the heat of an argument, they beat Vadivel to death and left the place,” a police officer said.
The body was found around 7am on Friday. It was shifted to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for postmortem. tnn
