Mahale, Dubey among shortlisted for T20

Nagpur: MSSC's Mandar Mahale and Eleven Star's Shubham Dubey, who drove their sides to victory in the Dorairajan Trophy match that concluded on Friday, have been included in the VCA's 25-member list. While Mahale scored 227, Dubey made unbeaten 159 in the first innings of the 3-day match.
Their knocks came just ahead of VCA's tour to Rajnandgaon. VCA have considered players from their performances in Guzder League and Dorairajan Trophy. Players like Updesh Rajput, Hemant Rathod, Vaibhav Lande, Tejas Soni and Pushpak Gujar have been included thanks to their brilliant performance in the two tournaments. Rest of the players are from the seasoned lot.
The shortlisted boys are expected to play matches among themselves before the squad will be declared for the T20 tournament in Rajnandgaon. The team is slated to leave for the tourney on May 30.
Before the list was out, southpaw Mahale (227 off 212b) wrote a script for MSSC's victory by an innings and 74 runs over Reshimbag Gymkhana.
In the other match, middle-order southpaw Dubey's 159 off 142 balls ensured Eleven Star get the better of Lipton by an innings and 78 runs.
