Karnataka: Expect cabinet berth in expansion, says Narasimharaja MLA Tanveer Sait
MYSURU: Former minister and Narasimharaja MLA Tanveer Sait on Friday said that he is expecting a cabinet berth during the cabinet expansion on Saturday.
He said he had decided not to contest the polls but following pressure from his supporters and the party high command, he again contested to retain the assembly segment for the party. “As Congress has got back to power with a thumping majority of 135 seats, I am aspiring to become a minister. I believe that the high command will consider me for the minister’s post,” he said. The six-time MLA said that he called on CM Siddaramaiah and conveyed his wish of becoming a minister in his cabinet. Referring to the Mysuru City Corporation standing committee polls, he said that Congress has grabbed two standing committee chief posts as JD(S) member MD Nagaraj has supported Congress in the assembly polls. With only four months left for the mayoral polls, the party will make preparations to capture power from BJP, he said.
