BENGALURU: A 35-year-old cabbie was hacked to death, allegedly by his friends, over a trivial issue in Laggere, Nandini Layout, north Bengaluru, on Wednesday.
Ravi alias Matti Ravi, a resident of Chowdeshwari Nagar, was attacked by some persons who were known to him, police said. In her complaint filed with Nandini Layout police, Ravi's wife Pushpa identified the suspects as Manju, Nagaraj alias Spot Naga, Gopi, Kiran and others.
"My husband had participated in the birthday celebrations of his friend Krishnamurthy on Wednesday evening. Returning home, he said Manju and others had fought with him at the party over trivial issues. By night, Manju repeatedly called my husband's mobile, asking him to meet them. My husband went out and the suspects attacked him near a hotel," Pushpa's complaint read.
Ravi and the accused had worked for a political party during the recently held assembly polls, police said.
