Miami Valley Conference names 1st-ever commissioner

Phil Poggi has been named the first Miami Valley Conference commissioner.

The Miami Valley Conference announced Phil Poggi as its first-ever conference commissioner.

Phil served as athletic director at Aiken, Kings and Sycamore high schools. In addition, he served on the local, state, and national board of directors for high school athletic administration.

In 2016, Phil was named to the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) Board of Directors as the Section 2 representative. He was named the 2014 Athletic Director of the Year by Southwest Ohio Athletic Director Associations. He currently serves as the Southwest District Athletic Board secretary.

“We are excited to work with Phil in shaping a unified vision for the Miami Valley Conference that leverages our solid foundation and enriches the athletics experience for all our members,” said Zach Stakely, MVC president and St. Bernard-Elmwood Place athletic director.

Phil and his wife, Danielle, live in South Lebanon with their two children, Grace and Grant. He currently works as a financial professional at Fortegic and serves as the secretary for the Southwest District Athletic Board.

The Miami Valley Conference is comprised of the following schools:  Cincinnati Christian, Cincinnati Country Day, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, Clark Montessori, Lockland, New Miami, North College Hill, Norwood, Miami Valley Christian Academy, Purcell Marian, Roger Bacon, Seven Hills, St. Bernard-Elmwood Place, and Summit Country Day.
