Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.04% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 11:21AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

IDFCBANK(up 1.76 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 1.49 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 1.11 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.7 per cent) and Federal Bank(up 0.57 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bandhan Bank(down 1.25 per cent), HDFC Bank(down 0.25 per cent), Axis Bank(down 0.24 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(down 0.21 per cent) and IndusInd Bank(down 0.1 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.04 per cent at 43699.05 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 92.9 points at 18414.05, while the BSE Sensex was up 320.29 points at 62192.91.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Zomato, Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin and IDFC First Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Mazda Ltd, Voltamp Trans, Lakshmi Finance, Indo Tech Trans and Andhra Cements hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Page Industries, Bombay Metrics Suppl, Quicktouch Technolog, Oswal Green Tech and SITI Networks hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
