MADURAI: Tuticorin MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi gifted spectacles and land title to one of SSLC toppers in Tamil Nadu.
The SSLC result was published on May 19. M Arjuna Prabakaran from Vallanadu secured 495 marks out of 500 and he was one of the toppers in the state.
Prabakaran’s father Manickavasagam died a few years ago. The family was stricken with poverty as his mother, Pandaraselvi, was educating the boy amidst a lot of difficulties. He was studying in MDT Hindu College Hr Sec School and supported by the school management as well as well-wishers.
Arjuna Prabakaran and his mother met Kanimozhi on May 22 when she came to Agaram near Adichanallur to inaugurate archaeological excavation work. During the meeting, the boy requested the MP to provide him with spectacles and land title since they were living in a rented house.
Kanimozhi presented him with the spectacles and land title at Tuticorin Corporation Office when she attended a function there on Friday. The family is given a land title for two cents. Kanimozhi wished him that he should study hard and come up in life.
