Indonesia's Jambi University signs MoU with Nalanda University

PATNA: The University of Jambi (Indonesia) on Thursday signed an MoU with Nalanda University (NU) for academic and research exchanges under ASEAN-India Network of Universities (AINU) consortium. The NU is the nodal institution for the AINU. The signing of the AINU-MoU took place at the university in the presence of outgoing NU vice-chancellor prof Sunaina Singh, who conceptualised the initiative.
Prof Abhay Kumar Singh, the interim vice-chancellor of NU said, "By joining the AINU, the Jambi University takes a significant step to serve and redevelop the ancient inter-linkages between India and Indonesia. It will also generate a purposeful dialogue among the academicians of member universities of the AINU consortium."
Deputy rector Dr Ir Teja Kaswari of Jambi University said, "The old civilizational values and wisdom are being developed in the new avatar of Nalanda University."
A delegation from University of Jambi, along with its head of international affairs, Research & Community Service Institute head and other distinguished scholars were present on the occasion.
