Industry protests fuel cess, UD tax

Jaipur: Industry bodies in the state on Thursday protested the special fuel surcharge saying it is getting difficult to run businesses with such high electricity tariffs.
Chairmanship of United Council of Rajasthan Industries (UCORI) and president of Vishwakarma Industries Association Tarachand Chaudhary said that discoms are imposing 52 paisa fuel surcharge including special surcharge of 7 paise. “Due to the imposition of the entire outstanding surcharge together, the cumulative amount has become so large it is more than the electricity consumption of the industries. Industrial units are not in any position to deposit the bill,” said Chaudhary. TNN
