Special camp helps residents revise tax, water bill books
Coimbatore: The city corporation received 264 requests to make corrections in the property tax and water bill books at a special camp that was organized for the residents of four wards in the north zone on Thursday.
Earlier, mayor Kalpana Anandakumar and corporation commissioner M Prathap jointly inaugurated the camp in the presence of zonal chairman V Kathirvel.
Kathirvel said the special camp was conducted for the first time in the zone, as there were many requests to make corrections in the tax and water bill books. “Officials were brought under one roof to help the residents. Most of the requests pertained to name change and correction in addresses. All the requests were solved without any delay. The camp helped the residents save time, cut down red-tapism and finish the work hassle-free.”
Out of 264 requests, 76 were related to the name correction in the tax book, while another 145 requests pertained to changes of other information in the tax book. The remaining 43 requests were related to the corrections in the water bill book.
Kathirvel said four similar special camps would be conducted in coming days to cover 16 remaining wards in the north zone.
