Bizmen protest against SGST’s ‘locked gate’

Ludhiana: Furious over the main gate of the state goods and services tax (SGST) department’s office in Ludhiana being locked for months now, city businessmen on Thursday staged a protest against the department. Businessmen claimed the main gate has remained locked for long, and the department only allows entry from the back gate. Ludhiana’s businessmen carried placards and raised slogans against the SGST department.
Gurdeep Singh Gosha, president of Business Bachao Morcha said, “Recently we went to submit a memorandum to the SGST department against the random checkings on the pretext of drive against suspicious GST numbers, but we were shocked that the main gate of the department has been permanently locked, and the entry and exit is allowed from a makeshift small gate, which is located adjacent to the boundary wall of Feroze Gandhi Market.” tnn
