Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Friday at 10:04AM

Oriental Trimex(up 1.43%), NMDC Ltd(up 0.81%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.59%), Coal India(up 0.27%) and KIOCL(up 0.11%) were among the top gainers.

Ashapura Minechem(down 17.92%), 20 Microns(down 1.23%), Pokarna(down 1.09%), Aro Granite Industries(down 0.50%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(down 0.33%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.24%) and MOIL(down 0.03%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 59.8 points up at 18380.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 228.0 points at 62100.62 at around 10:04AM.

Reliance Industries(up 1.88%), Adani Enterprises(up 1.16%), Wipro(up 1.15%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.11%), Bajaj Finserv(up 1.06%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 1.0%), Tech Mahindra(up 0.99%), Hindalco Industries(up 0.98%), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.96%) and UPL Ltd(up 0.92%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.81%), Grasim Industries(down 1.33%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.74%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.68%), Axis Bank(down 0.33%), ICICI Bank(down 0.32%), HDFC(down 0.28%), Nestle India(down 0.21%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.17%) and HDFC Bank(down 0.15%) were trading in the red.
