The second day of Goafest concluded on a high note with a captivating knowledge seminar by Disney Star, featuring the renowned Indian Cricket Legend and Member of Parliament, Harbhajan Singh. Titled Unearthing Future Talent: The Rise of Indian Cricketers from the Grassroots, the seminar left the crowd amazed and enthralled.
In a conversation with Manish Batavia, Sports Presenter & Commentator, Harbhajan delved into various aspects that shape a cricketer’s journey, from self-belief and on-field experiences to life beyond cricket and his upcoming book.
The discussion shed light on the vast talent pool in India and the significance of nurturing young players at the grassroots level. Harbhajan, reminiscing about his own journey, shared, “I dabbled in Judo and Badminton, but Cricket always held a special place in my heart; I aspired to be like Kapil Dev!”

When asked about coaching, Harbhajan stressed the importance of honest talent management, stating, “Coaching alone is not enough; what we need today is sincere talent management.” He firmly believes that dedicated coaching programs, infrastructure development, and a deep passion for the sport will enable India’s young cricketers to leave a lasting impact on the international stage, paving the way for a promising future in cricket.
