Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Friday at 11:06AM

Voltamp Transformers(up 15.77%), DPSC(up 8.91%), Reliance Power(up 7.00%), Indo Tech Transformers(up 6.24%), Alstom T&D India(up 4.99%), Karma Energy(up 4.92%), Jyoti Structures(up 4.61%), Suzlon Energy(up 2.04%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(up 1.93%) and RTNPOWER(up 1.59%) were among the top gainers.

Adani Transmissions(down 3.51%), Energy Development Company(down 1.48%), Gujarat Industries Power(down 1.39%), Power & Instrumentation(Gujarat)(down 1.22%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.05%), Torrent Power(down 0.61%), SJVN(down 0.56%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(down 0.40%), Hitachi Energy India(down 0.40%) and PTC India(down 0.32%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 77.05 points up at 18398.2, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 249.77 points at 62122.39 at around 11:06AM.

Hindalco Industries(up 2.54%), Reliance Industries(up 1.93%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.61%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.58%), UPL Ltd(up 1.49%), Wipro(up 1.34%), HCL Technologies(up 1.29%), Infosys(up 1.06%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.06%) and SBI Life(up 1.05%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.87%), Grasim Industries(down 1.24%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.05%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.78%), Asian Paints(down 0.37%), HDFC(down 0.36%), HDFC Bank(down 0.35%), Axis Bank(down 0.32%), IndusInd Bank(down 0.31%) and ICICI Bank(down 0.12%) were trading in the red.
