During The Wall Street Journal’s CEO Council Summit in London, the U.S. Treasury secretary gives the latest update on debt-ceiling talks. She also discusses the need for healthy competition in the U.S. banking system and the role a hot labor market plays in keeping inflation high.

Consumers increased their spending sharply last month and inflation accelerated, fresh data showed Friday, potentially complicating the Federal Reserve’s debate on whether to raise interest rates again in June.
