MUMBAI: Parts Parts of Dadar, around Shivaji Park, Sion and Byculla and nearby areas faced power outages on Thursday, causing hardship to residents especially in the sultry weather.
In case of Sion, two feeders of a receiving station had tripped, resulting in major power cuts in the area from 8 pm.
Former BEST panel member Ravi Raja said many residents tried to contact the control room for 40 minutes, but in vain. “Nobody received the calls. Also, there was no alert or message on the cause of cuts as several homes were left in darkness. It’s a sorry state of affairs,” he pointed out. The supply was restored by 9.40 pm.
At Shivaji Park, officials said a Tata Power cable was damaged due to road-digging in the area. Sources said the power cuts in Byculla was due to a cable fault.
