Jaipur: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) after registering the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) case in the paper leak case of senior teacher’s recruitment examination conducted by
Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) on December 24, 2022 are questioning the accused lodged in jail.
So far ED have interrogated Babu Lal Katara, the secretary RPSC who was arrested by SOG in this case and is in jail and other accused. ED had also sent notice to Sanjay Kumar Shrotriya, the chairman RPSC asking him to appear on May 10, but he did not turn up.
TOI on Thursday spoke to the authorities to know the progress in the case. Majority of the officers refrained from coming on record saying “investigation is in progress”.
“Some of the accused who are already in jail have been questioned so far. It is a continuous process, and we will keep asking them things which are needed in our investigations after registering a case,” said a senior officer on the condition of anonymity.
According to the ED sources Babu Lal Katara, the secretary RPSC who is presently in jail has been questioned in this case and process is on to question others in jail. A special CBI court dealing with PMLA case on April 28 had ordered the jail superintendent, Jaipur central jail to facilitate the ED officers in getting the statements of the accused including Babu Lal Katara, the secretary, RPSC, Anil Meena, Bhupendra Saran, Rajeev Upadhyay, Ramgopal Meena, Suresh Bishnoi, Ghimnaram, Anita Meena, Deepesh Katara, Gopal Singh and Vijay Damor. Udaipur cops had arrested 55 people from a bus in December 2022.
