Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Friday at 11:01AM

Triveni Engineering & Industries(up 3.53%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(up 3.45%), Simbhaoli Sugars(up 2.70%), BAJAJHIND(up 2.59%), Sakthi Sugars(up 1.65%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(up 1.59%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.27%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(up 1.24%), Shree Renuka Sugars(up 1.04%) and Rana Sugars(up 0.90%) were among the top gainers.

Bannari Amman Sugars(down 1.68%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(down 0.68%), MAGADHSUGAR(down 0.27%), Balrampur Chini Mills(down 0.24%), DCM Shriram Industries(down 0.20%), EID Parry(down 0.11%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 0.10%) and AVADHSUGAR(down 0.04%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 69.85 points up at 18391.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 237.71 points at 62110.33 at around 11:01AM.

Hindalco Industries(up 2.33%), Reliance Industries(up 1.92%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.62%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.55%), UPL Ltd(up 1.46%), Wipro(up 1.31%), HCL Technologies(up 1.31%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.16%), Infosys(up 0.95%) and TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.95%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.81%), Grasim Industries(down 1.31%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.97%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.88%), Axis Bank(down 0.35%), HDFC(down 0.32%), IndusInd Bank(down 0.29%), Asian Paints(down 0.29%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.28%) and HDFC Bank(down 0.27%) were trading in the red.
