Prime Minister Modi will install it on a pedestal positioned to the right of the Speaker’s Chair in the new Parliament building The historic ‘Sengol’ was received by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on August 14, 1947, to represent the symbol of the transfer of power from the Britishers to India. 293rd head priest of Madurai Adheenam Sri Harihara Desika Swamigal will be presenting the same ‘Sengol’ to PM Modi on May 28. Malai Mandir President said, “The program has nothing to do with the Parliament. Our ‘Sengol’, our rulings, we are only interested in the Temple activities. We intend to request them to say a few words about the spiritual matters that connected with the Temple activities.”
