Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 10:40AM

Parag Milk(up 1.67%), Heritage Foods(up 1.58%), Prataap Snacks(up 1.46%), Vadilal Industries(up 1.43%), Bikaji Foods International(up 1.36%), Britannia Industries(up 1.06%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.89%), Dabur India(up 0.80%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 0.71%) and Nestle India(up 0.54%) were among the top gainers.

Adani Wilmar(down 3.94%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 2.44%), Nakoda Group(down 1.25%), Patanjali Foods(down 1.11%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 1.05%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 0.93%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(down 0.85%), P & G Hygiene(down 0.72%), Gillette India(down 0.66%) and Varun Beverages(down 0.61%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 25.9 points down at 18259.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 81.13 points at 61692.65 at around 10:40AM.

Bajaj Auto(up 2.26%), Bharti Airtel(up 2.25%), ITC(up 1.86%), Britannia Industries(up 1.06%), Eicher Motors(up 0.94%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.89%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 0.83%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.67%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.64%) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.63%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Enterprises(down 2.17%), Tata Motors(down 1.6%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.52%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.29%), IndusInd Bank(down 0.92%), HDFC(down 0.83%), Tata Consultancy(down 0.76%), UPL Ltd(down 0.75%), Wipro(down 0.68%) and HDFC Bank(down 0.56%) were trading in the red.
