MUMBAI: Sanville Adrian D’Souza alias Sam Dsouza has approached the Bombay high court vacation bench with a plea for quashing criminal proceedings and interim relief in connection with an alleged extortion and corruption case filed by
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) linked to the October 2021 Cordelia Cruise drug bust case by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
The petition is scheduled to be heard on Friday before the vacation bench of Justices Abhay Ahuja and MM Sathaye.
The CBI had filed the FIR on May 11 this year against Indian Revenue Service officer Sameer Wankhede, former zonal director of NCB in Mumbai, two other officers, informant Sam dsouza and a witness Kiran Gosavi for allegedly demanding Rs 25 cr from the family of actor Shah Rukh Khan for not initiating action against his son Aryan. The actor's son was arrested and later NCB dropped charges against him.
Earlier Wankhede had filed a quashing petition and the HC vacation bench on Monday had extended interim protection to him against any coercive action by CBI till June 8, on his undertaking to co-operate with the probe.
