Eminent personalitiesto address C20 summit

A number of eminent personalities will address the C20 International Summit on ‘Diversity, Inclusion and Mutual Respect’, to be held at Dabolim, Vasco on May 27, with the event expected to make policy recommendations to the G20. C20 is the Civilian Arm of G20.

The Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will attend the inauguration of the event, while Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte and the Minister for Art and Culture Govind Gaude will be also present.

Capt. Dilip Donde, the first Indian to complete a solo circumnavigation of the globe in a sailboat will deliver an address on ‘Respecting Mother Earth and Nature’, while Mahesh Patil, the chairman of the Goa State Pollution Control Board will talk on ‘Health, Safety, Environment and Corporate Responsibility’.

Pooja Bedi, film and television actress will speak about ‘Entertainment and Wellness,’ while Manoj Kamat, an educationist, will deliver a lecture on ‘Education and its Role to Shape the Future for Diversity, Inclusion and Mutual Respect’.

The C20 conference is a collaborative effort among the government of India, Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidyalay and the International Centre for Cultural Studies, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, New Delhi.

Dr. Shashi Bala, international co-ordinator for the C20 Working Group, addressing a press conference in the city on Thursday said that there are 14 working groups under the C20 dedicated to issues like health, environment, education, technology, preservation and conservation of traditional arts, crafts and culture, and so on.

Dr. Bala stated that the C20 feels that marriages represent pure relationship and is a responsibility to take the world forward.

“The LGBT relationships are unnatural and we cannot go against nature,” she noted.

It was also informed that a negative narrative is being spread that caste factor is very strong in India.

Sweta Clarke of Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidyalay informed that the C20 will provide policy recommendations to the G20 on topics like climate change and health. “In fact, many of the incurable diseases can be treated with spiritualism,” she maintained.

Mata Amritanandamayi is the chairperson of the C20 in India.
