Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a veiled swipe at the opposition parties for boycotting the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament building. The PM was addressing BJP workers and supporters upon his arrival from a three-nation tour. Modi said that he used every moment during his tour of Japan, Papua New Guinea and Australia for India's good. He also noted that not only Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and that country's ruling party functionaries but a former prime minister and opposition members were also present during the Indian community's programme in Sydney where he had spoken. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks came amid a boycott of the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament building by 20 opposition parties. Those boycotting the inauguration include the Congress and many parties that are in power in several states.
