Kanpur: The Uttarakhand Special Task Force arrested another accused involved in the Graduate Level Recruitment Examination of Uttarakhand’s Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) leak case 2020-21 from Awas Vikas Colony in Kalyanpur police area of the city on Tuesday.
The arrested accused Rahul Singh alias Krishna Singh carried a reward of Rs 25,000 announced by the STF. During interrogation, it has come to fore that he had sold paper to four candidates for Rs 8 to 10 lakh. This was STF’s 57th arrest in the paper leak case. Following a specific tip-off, a team of Uttarakhand STF was in Kanpur for the last few days. SSP STF Ayush Aggarwal said that Rahul had been absconding after the arrest of other accused in the case. The STF was looking for him and had also announced a reward of Rs 25,000 on him, he said.
Inspector Kalyanpur Devendra Dubey, confirming the arrest, told the reporters that Dehradun STF had sought help to arrest the accused, after which Rahul was nabbed from his house on Tuesday night. During interrogation, Rahul divulged that the paper was given to him by Parvez, a native of Lucknow, said the SSP. He met Parvez in Kanpur while he was preparing for CPMT in 2011. On failing to clear CPMT, he started rigging the examinations along with Parvez, said the officials. “Now, STF is looking for Parvez. Other associates of Rahul and the candidates who bought papers are also being searched,” he added.
