Satyendar Jain falls in Delhi's Tihar jail, shifted to ICU, put on oxygen support

NEW DELHI: Former Delhi minister and AAP leader Satyendar Jain was on Thursday morning admitted to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital after he collapsed in the bathroom of Tihar jail in the city.
Jain was later shifted to the ICU ward of city's LNJP Hospital where he has been put on oxygen support.
According to jail officials, at 6am on Thursday, Jain slipped and fell down in the bathroom of the MI room of the hospital located at central jail number 7. "He was kept under observation for weakness," an officer said.
As per jail administration, he was examined by the doctors. "Vitals were normal. He was further referred to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital as he complained about pain in his back, left leg, and shoulder," an officer said.

Earlier this Monday, he was taken by police to Safdarjung Hospital to be examined for spinal problems.
Jail officials had said Jain visits the hospital at least once in 15 days owing to spine issues. He had earlier visited Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital and wanted a second opinion. He was referred to Safdarjung on Saturday.
In a statement, AAP wrote Jain had lost 35kg in the past one year, leading to "multiple health complications like spinal injury, lumbar pain, vertigo, chronic back pain due to slip disc and muscular atrophy."
