Coimbatore: The city police have invited applications for 100 traffic warden posts.
Any degree holders aged between 25 and 40 years can apply for the post at the deputy commissioner of police (traffic) office or at the chief traffic warden office located inside the city police commissioner office near the district collectorate.
Candidates can also be a government employee. But they should not belong to any uniformed services. “We are planning to select 100 candidates for the entry level posts in the honorary service. Candidates should be based out of Coimbatore. Those with criminal background are not eligible,” said chief traffic warden J Sam Babu.
“Those who do gold and finance business or with political affiliations are not eligible. Selected candidates will be deployed within the city limits, especially at four major junctions - Gandhipuram, Town Hall, Hope College, and Singanallur,” he added. “It is an honorary service. The candidates with the intention of serving the society with the police uniform can come forward and take up the posts.”
