Local officials suggest changes to BMC plan for splitting L ward
While the BMC is going ahead with its plan to split large wards such as PNorth and K-East, the proposal to split the BMC L ward may change, as local and zonal BMC officials have come up with a proposal to remove three corporator wards from the L ward and two wards from M-East ward and merge it with the MWest ward, increasing the number of corporator wards of M-West ward from seven to 12 wards.
ED to withdraw nod to Sachin Waze to turn approver in Anil Deshmukh case
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has decided to withdraw its nod given to dismissed police officer Sachin Waze for becoming an approver in a money laundering case against former home minister Anil Deshmukh.There is no clarity as to what prompted ED to change its stand. ED can reverse its opinion if the approver does not comply with conditions of pardon such as concealing anything essential or giving false evidence. The approver can then be tried for the offence in respect of which pardon was granted or any other offence the approver appears to have been guilty of in connection with the same case, and al-so for giving false evidence.
Fraud agent held for Rs 1 crore loan con with fake documents
A 35-year-old woman who allegedly connived with five others impersonating an LIC agent and obtained a loan of Rs 1. 32 crore by submitting fake LIC policies and duped Punjab & Sind Bank has been arrested.The Dadar police on Monday arrested Rani Durairaj Perinabi, a historysheeter from Vasai, against whom there are five similar cases of cheating.While police arrested Perinabi, they are looking for her accomplices — Sonali Borese, Viashaili Shivgan, Manish Jaiswal, Deepak Daan and Ranjit Prasad and Prakash Bhet. Though the accused hatched the criminal conspiracy in April last year it came to light only after six loan applicants defaulted on its repayment.
HSC exam results to be declared today at 2pm
The results of 14. 5 lakh Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) students will be declared online on Thursday at 2pm. This year, the exam had the highest enrollment since 2018.Students can check their results on mahresult. nic. in. The marksheets and migration certificates will be made available to students in their schools/colleges on June 5 from 3pm.Supplementary exams will be held in July-August for those who do not pass in all papers. Online registration for supplementary exams will begin from May 29. A detailed circular will be issued by the board. Class Improvement Scheme for students who want to better their scores will also be held. Details will be known later. Students can seek verification of marks and photo-copying of answersheets from May 26.
