The Crime Branch wing of the Maharashtra Police have nabbed two youngsters, including a minor boy, who allegedly shot dead a 21-year-old man in Chikhali, Pune district, last Monday, officials said.
The police have identified one of the accused as Saurabh alias Sonya Pansare of Moigaon village in Khed taluka of Pune district. His aide, who is a minor, has been detained as per the law and sent to observation home, the Pimpri Chinchwad police police said.
The sleuths nabbed the two at Jawli in Satara district on Wednesday after a rigorous search operation, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Swapna Gore. The police have seized a two-wheeler and other materials from their possession. The probe is on for recovering the pistol used by the accused for the murder, the officer said.
According to the police, Krushna alias Sonya Haribhau Tapkir, a resident of Mahadev Nagar in Chikhali was shot dead by the two around 1,30 pm.
The police said that Pansare and Tapkir who were friends in the past had a quarrel during a Dandiya function at Patil Nagar in Chikhali last year. Also, the police said that Pansare was upset as Tapkir was becoming popular in the area and hence he plotted to kill him.
Police said Tapkir had left studies after Class 10. He was then looking after the milk business of his family. His father passed away in 2015. Tapkir who had recently started another business, is survived by his mother and two younger sisters, they said.
