Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 09:59AM

Ugar Sugar Works(up 1.57%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(up 1.38%), AVADHSUGAR(up 1.08%), K.M.Sugar Mills(up 0.92%), Rana Sugars(up 0.90%), Simbhaoli Sugars(up 0.89%), BAJAJHIND(up 0.74%), Mawana Sugars(up 0.72%), Shree Renuka Sugars(up 0.69%) and Uttam Sugar Mills(up 0.66%) were among the top gainers.

Bannari Amman Sugars(down 0.64%), Balrampur Chini Mills(down 0.38%) and EID Parry(down 0.33%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 8.7 points down at 18276.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 30.56 points at 61743.22 at around 09:59AM.

Bajaj Auto(up 2.35%), Britannia Industries(up 2.04%), ITC(up 2.01%), Bharti Airtel(up 1.75%), Eicher Motors(up 1.36%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.9%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 0.82%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.72%), Nestle India(up 0.71%) and TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.67%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Enterprises(down 1.84%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.51%), Tata Motors(down 1.41%), IndusInd Bank(down 0.86%), Wipro(down 0.8%), HDFC(down 0.76%), State Bank of India(down 0.71%), UPL Ltd(down 0.56%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.46%) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.43%) were trading in the red.
