LUCKNOW: In a meeting with senior government and police officers on Wednesday evening, chief minister Yogi Adityanath said officers should hold public hearings to ensure prompt resolution of public grievances.
The CM said that it was an official's duty to behave properly with people so that they could create a positive image of the government in the minds of people. "Officials in the field should dispose of complaints of the people on priority. They should be sympathetic with people and with their behaviour, create a favourable opinion about the government. It is necessary to make Thana Divas and Tehsil Divas more effective. The dates for these should be publicised widely," he said.
The satisfaction of the public will be the standard of excellence of your performance,” the CM told officials.
The CM said that officers should spend the night in areas where they have been posted and nowhere else. He said that senior officers should carry out surprise checks to ascertain that this rule is being followed. The CM said that some months earlier, they had managed to get loudspeakers removed from religiousplaces only through dialogue. However, during recent visits to some districts, he had found that the loudspeakers were back. This is unacceptable, he said and dialogue should be initiated with these people again. There should be strict action against noise pollution and Supreme Court guidelines should be followed strictly in this matter, the CM said, asking officials to speak to DJs and music system operators for this.
He directed officials to crack down on illegal taxi stands, bus stands and rickshaw stands as they were hubs of extortion and to take strict action against anyone who misbehaves with women. Police should carry out foot patrolling for this, he said.
The CM said that meetings of the District Udyog Bandhu should be held regularly and any problem being faced by investors should be resolved immediately. If necessary, then they should be forwarded to the CM’s office.
“All 17 municipal corporations must be made smart and safe and should be linked with CCTV networks. Start work on flood control from now itself. Drainage systems should be improved. There is a chance that the heat may become worse in which case there should be sufficient availability of power. There should be no shortage of water anywhere,” the CM said.
